For this we need:

Satin ribbon 2.5 cm wide, yellow and green colors;

Satin ribbon 0.5 - 0.6 cm wide, black colors;

Ruler;

Scissors;

Glue gun;

Felt for the base flower.

Cut the yellow ribbon colors per 7 cm segments. - 18 pcs. and 5.5 cm - 9 pcs. (for one flower) . Green ribbon colors per 10 cm segments. - 3 pcs.

Fold the piece in the middle at a right angle, so that there is an equal distance from the edges to the corner.

Then we bend the lower end of the segment to the upper one so that their ends are aligned (should be a house).

Fold in half with right sides facing in.

Then turn the fold back on one side and the other.

Solder the petal at the bottom with a lighter.

The petal is ready. We do this for all the petals.

Making leaves. Take a piece of green colors, fold in half with the front side facing inward.

Cut diagonally and singe the edge with a lighter so that it sticks together. (can be cut immediately with a soldering iron or burner).

Cut off a corner as in the photo and turn the petal inside out.

This is the leaf we use.

Cut a circle from felt with a diameter of 4 - 4.5 cm (this will be the basis of our flower) .

If it is a hair elastic, then glue the elastic and additionally secure it with a narrow ribbon in the center, and if it is just flower for crafts, glue the petals directly onto the base.

We collect flower:

1st and 2nd rows glue petals from 7 cm segments. 9 petals in one row. The second row is staggered relative to the first.

3rd row - petals from 5.5 cm segments, glue between the petals of the second row.

We form a circle, twisting it into a spiral and gluing it in the middle flower.

Glue it to our leaves of a flower.

When talking about a flower like a sunflower, the first thing that comes to our mind is summer sun. You can make a piece of summer with your own hands using a wide variety of materials and handicraft techniques. This article will look at how to use a currently popular form of creativity, namely kanzashi, to make a sunflower from satin ribbons.

Such crafts fit quite organically into the interiors of the premises; they can be used to create unique jewelry and hair accessories. Submitted by step-by-step master class(MK), with photo examples and a video clip, will demonstrate to you the step-by-step technology for making a solar flower.

So, at the initial stage, the master class analyzes what you will need for work, namely:

These blanks will be useful for creating the petals of a sunny flower. All photo and video lessons begin with their creation.

Green pieces of ten centimeters in the amount of three pieces will be used respectively for making foliage.

Take one of the blanks and fold them with your own hands, forming a right angle. Please note that you have equal gaps from the borders to the corners.

After this, take the end of the tape located at the bottom and bend it to the top. This way the tips should align. As a result, you will receive an element in the shape of a small house. Fold it in half. In this case, the front side should be inside. With your own hands, turn the folds formed on both sides back and solder the petal along the bottom, using a lighter for this purpose. Based on the described method, using the provided photo and video examples, you will need to make all the remaining petals.

At the next stage, the master class (MK) begins making sunflower foliage. Prepare lengths of green satin ribbons. They need to be folded in half so that the front side is on the inside. Next, using scissors, you need to cut off the edge diagonally and melt it with the flame of a lighter, match or candle. Also, a soldering iron and a burner do an excellent job with this type of work. In addition, this allows you to immediately cut and solder the desired element. It is, of course, worth purchasing such devices if you decide to seriously engage in kanzashi technology, because they greatly facilitate and speed up the process of creating this or that product with your own hands.

So, we need to do the following: cut off the corner and turn out the petal. You can do this by following the photo.

We get the next leaf, as in the photo. How many similar parts to make for a sunflower is up to you. This master class (MK) uses three such elements.

When all the color blanks are made, we begin to create the base. Take felt material and cut out a circle from it, the diameter of which is four to five centimeters.

This sunflower can become a central element attached to an elastic band, hairpin or bandage. For example, if you decide to make an elastic band, you will simply need to fix it with glue and fasten it with a narrow piece of tape in the middle. If you use this product as an ordinary flower, fix the petals on the prepared base.

We begin the flower assembly stage. The first two rows consist of blanks of seven and nine centimeter segments. They are attached with glue along a felt circle. All petals of the second row are arranged in a checkerboard pattern. In the third row there are parts created from 5.5 centimeter tape, which are also glued among the petals of the second row.

The master class is moving towards its end, and all we have to do is make a core for our sunflower from a dark narrow satin ribbon. Take a ribbon seventy centimeters long and baste it with a thread in the center. Now pull the thread. In this way, we get the basis for the middle. We make a spiral circle out of it with our own hands and fix it with glue in the center of the sunflower. Add foliage under the flower.

Additionally you can add additional decor for such a sunflower, showing your imagination. These can be ladybugs, interesting buttons, beads, seed beads and other decorative elements.

Using this MK as a basis, you can make your own sunflower of different sizes, creating a larger or smaller number of petals.

You can see how solar flowers are created in practice in the presented video clip, where an experienced craftswoman shares her ideas and secrets. By studying such lessons, you hone your skills, learn new ideas that will be useful to you in the future to create your own original works.

The Kanzashi sunflower is a very beautiful and easy to make flower. They can be used to decorate any accessory and are very easy to make yourself. For the petals you will need a yellow satin ribbon 2.5 cm wide: cut it into pieces 5 cm long. They are made according to the same principle as for the aster, and should be long and sharp. For the leaves we take a ribbon Green colour 2.5 cm wide. Foliage is an optional element, but it adds contrast to the flower.

How to make a center out of ribbon

For a sunflower using the kanzashi technique, it is very important to choose the right base. It's good if it's felt. We cut out a circle with a diameter of 7 cm from it. For the middle, you can use beads, seed beads or a simple grosgrain ribbon. In the master class we will work with tape, but first we need to string it on a thread and pull it tightly along the edges so that it becomes like an accordion.

You will need a black ribbon 1 cm wide and 40 cm long, as well as 60 cm brown. Instead of grosgrain ribbon you can use satin. Let's start the master class "Sunflower-kanzashi".

Making flower petals

Cut from the tape yellow color 5 cm and fold the sides together, right side out. Tweezers will help hold the petal in place and reduce the risk of getting burned by the lighter. You can singe the edges with a candle, lighter or soldering iron. Cut one edge of the tape diagonally and secure the edges on one side. Now we form the opposite side of the petal, folding both edges into the middle, aligning them in the center and fixing them in place, singeing the edge again. We make about 35 of these blanks.

Creating a center for a sunflower from kanzashi ribbons

The central part of the flower should be voluminous. We prepare the ribbon for the middle of the flower: singe the edge, take a needle and thread to match, fold the material in half, string it onto the thread and pull it together. The black center can be made later by fixing it with glue.

Another option: immediately fold the ribbon into a spiral and sew it with matching threads, turning the workpiece in your hands to create a voluminous part. We glue the felt blank and the core, placing it in the center.

Collecting a flower

We begin assembling the kanzashi sunflower from the outer edge: glue the petals close to each other. The first layer will require approximately 18 petals. Then we make the second circle - it requires about 14 petals. At the very end of the assembly, glue a brown tape around the black center. It should cover the edges of the petals. Additionally, the center of the flower can be decorated with artificial insects, rhinestones or beads. This flower will perfectly complement

Sunflower-kanzashi: master class on creating a flower with curved petals

You can make a sunflower in another way. The petals will be rounded, and the middle will consist of beads. We prepare the necessary materials:

  • yellow satin ribbon 5 cm wide and green 2.5 cm wide;
  • tweezers;
  • lighter;
  • black beads;
  • scissors;
  • knife or spoon;
  • clean cloth;
  • fishing line;
  • glue gun

Flower making process:

  • From the yellow ribbon we cut out 24 rectangles 6 cm long, and divide the green ribbon into 12 pieces 6.5 cm long.
  • We begin to form the petals from the yellow ribbon: fold the rectangle in half with the wrong side inward and cut it into two halves. To make the edges of the kanzashi sunflower petals look more natural, cut a narrow strip of ribbon from one edge.
  • We cut off first the right and then the left upper edge diagonally: you should get a sharp petal.
  • Now you need to round the side corners. We do the same with the green ribbon. The only difference: we make the triangles at the end sharper and do not cut off the side edges of the tape. This leaf will be at the very base and will be practically invisible.
  • All that remains is to burn the blanks with a candle without bending them. We do this to secure the edge so that it does not crumble. You can get clean, soot-free leaves by using the bottom of a candle flame.
  • Now we need a knife or a spoon, depending on what is more convenient to use. Additionally, we prepare clean material for cleaning tools from soot. If you have a gas stove, the process will go faster - the knife will get less dirty.
  • When working, we use the blunt side of the knife: heat it over the fire and wipe it with a cloth. Then we take a sunflower petal and apply two parallel stripes to the fabric, starting from the wrong side. Turn it over and make three lines on the front side between the folds. You will get a corrugated petal.
  • We repeat these steps on all other blanks made from yellow ribbon and green leaves.
  • Now we form the petals and leaves: we move the right corner of each blank to the left, and the left corner to the right. Burn the bottom on the candle.
  • Pulling out the ribbon, we begin to bend the petal outward, drawing the edges over the fire. We bend the green petals more strongly.

When all the preparations are ready, all that remains is to assemble the flower. On a felt base with a diameter of 5 cm we glue the first row of green petals in the amount of 12 pieces. Next, we begin to glue the yellow petals in a checkerboard pattern, without moving them to the center. There are also 12 petals in this row. In the third row, we glue the yellow petals in a checkerboard pattern between the petals of the second row. To decorate the center we will need faceted black beads and fishing line with a diameter of 0.18 mm. We fold the fishing line into 4 folds, fasten it on the wrong side and begin sewing beads in a circle. All that remains is to secure the fishing line, and the sunflower is ready! You can use it to make a hair accessory, a brooch, or use it to create a composition of ribbons.

The kanzashi technique is a handicraft based on folding pieces of fabric in a certain way. Initially, it was used to create women's hair jewelry. Today, this technique is used to decorate clothes, make brooches and everything else - hair decorations (combs, headbands, elastic bands, hairpins). Let's make a kanzashi sunflower with our own hands; the master class will help you understand the technique and master the basic techniques.

Basics of technology

Materials:

  • satin ribbons;
  • beads;
  • buttons;
  • lighter, candle or soldering iron;
  • scissors;
  • needle;
  • threads;
  • colorless glue;
  • tweezers.

In addition to beads and buttons, you can use organza, tulle, lace, beads, sequins, rhinestones, etc. Ribbons are needed in different widths. For beginners, it is advisable to use 5 cm.

Work begins with preparing squares from ribbons. In this case, the cut edges should be singed so that the ribbons do not fray. You can use matches, a lighter, a candle (but it can smoke the tape), a soldering iron (ideal, it immediately singes and cuts the tape). The petals are usually made sharp or round, but various modifications are possible. Most often, flowers are made by folding, but you can collect butterflies, ladybugs, chanterelles, etc.

Basics of the technique step by step:

  1. Cut the ribbons into squares.
  2. Fold the petal, singeing the ends and the junction.
  3. Gather the petals on a thread or glue them to the base.
  4. Glue the blank to the headband, hairpin, etc.
  5. Glue or sew on the center of the flower.
  6. Decorate with decor and attach to the base.

Sunny flower

Let's take a closer look at the kanzashi technique using a sunflower as an example. Using this technique we will also make a bee. You can use any other decoration instead.

Necessary materials:

  • satin ribbons of yellow, orange, green, white and black, 2.5 cm wide;
  • satin black or brown cord 30 cm;
  • felt circle with a diameter of 4 cm - 2 pcs.;
  • wire.

Make 27 petals from 7 cm pieces of orange ribbon. To do this, bend the left corner down and place the right corner on it. The edges should be smooth. Fold the lower left part towards the center of the petal and place the right one on top of it. Melt the petal.

Glue the petals onto the felt circle: 9 petals in the 1st row, 9 petals on top of the 2nd row in a checkerboard pattern; bottom 3rd row also in checkerboard pattern 9 pcs.

For the middle, twist the satin cord and glue it.

Make a bee from round folded kanzashi petals for the head and body, and from sharp inverted petals for the wings. Wings can also be made from organza. Glue the parts together. More details in the photo:

Glue the middle and the bee to the side of the sunflower.

Make leaves. Using a soldering iron, make 8 leaves from green tape, as in the photo:

Glue 4 leaves onto a felt circle with an elastic band (if you plan to use an elastic band for hair) and the second row - 4 more in a checkerboard pattern.

Glue the flower to the leaves. The sunflower is ready!

Sunshine on the windowsill

The folding technique is mainly used to make hair jewelry. But not only. In this master class we will look at making topiary using this technique. And our center will not be ordinary, but made from natural coffee!

Materials and tools:

  • satin ribbons 5 cm wide in red, yellow and green colors;
  • natural bean coffee;
  • beads;
  • small figurines of ladybugs (optional);
  • computer disk;
  • wooden stick;
  • clay pot;
  • gypsum;
  • hot glue gun;
  • scissors;
  • candle, lighter or soldering iron;
  • PVA glue.

Cut 40 pieces from yellow ribbon. strips of 6 cm each. Make sharp petals out of them - fold them in half, cut off a corner, and glue them together using a candle flame. On the other side, fold the edges and glue them together. Glue the first row of petals to the disk with a heat gun. Glue the second row in a checkerboard pattern.

Make leaves for the sepals from 8 cm pieces of green tape: fold in half lengthwise, fold in half across, connect one of the upper corners to the lower ones and glue over the fire. Cover the disc with leaves on the reverse side.

There are two ways to make a center with coffee beans:

  • glue several layers to the center of the coffee bean to form a tubercle;
  • make a mound of napkins or toilet paper, cover with paper, paint over it with brown paint, cover with grains.

For the stem, wrap the stick with green tape, gluing the leaves. Glue the stem to the flower slightly askew. Pour gypsum into the pot and insert the stem there. Hold for a while and leave until dry.

Stylish and beautiful gift– topiary “Sunflower” made of coffee and satin ribbons. The master class on how to make it is simple. Even a person without much experience in needlework can make a composition. Dark shiny coffee beans imitate seeds, and petals are made from bright yellow satin. Topiaries in the shape of sunflowers will decorate the interior and bring bright, cheerful notes to it.

What do you need for work?

The easiest way to make such a topiary with your own hands is to use narrow satin ribbons. If they are not available, you can use artificial silk, cut and processed along the edges using a burner. To make the craft look beautiful, you need ribbons in bright yellow and dark green shades. Coffee beans must be large, intact, and well roasted. They will not only decorate the craft, but also fill the room with a lasting, rich aroma.

For the craft you need to prepare:

  • yellow and green satin ribbons or measured satin in appropriate shades;
  • roasted coffee beans;
  • plastic or clay pot for the base;
  • glue gun;
  • scissors;
  • alabaster or plaster;
  • newsprint;
  • lighter or burner;
  • CD;
  • dark brown paint;
  • instant coffee;
  • acrylic lacquer;
  • thick threads;
  • green sisal;
  • dry branches;
  • decorative elements in the form of butterflies or ladybugs.

Making sunflower

First you need to make blanks for the petals. Care is important in the work; the petals should turn out smooth, neat and identical. A yellow ribbon about 5 cm wide is cut into 6 cm pieces, folded in half, a corner is cut off and the cut area is glued together using a lighter. After this, the workpiece is rolled into a cone and secured again with the flame of a lighter. Petals are made from green ribbon in the same way, only the blanks should be larger, 10 cm in length. To create a sunflower you will need quite a lot of petals, it is better to make them with a reserve.

Yellow petals are glued along the edge of the disk. The distance from the edge is no more than 1 cm. The petals are attached evenly, next to each other, with the wide end outward. The second row is glued in a checkerboard pattern. It is important that drops of glue are not noticeable. Then the disk is turned over and covered with green petals. The first row is attached at a distance of 2.5 cm from the edge, the next rows are moved closer to the center. The petals are arranged in overlapping circles; there should be no gaps between them.

The center of the disk is coated with glue, and a crumpled newspaper is attached to it to form a hemisphere. For greater strength, it is fixed with threads. After drying, the center of the composition is covered with two layers of brown acrylic paint. It must be applied very carefully so as not to stain the satin petals. On back side a small hole is made for the stem.

Without newsprint You can get by by laying the coffee beans in several rows so that closer to the middle the thickness of the layers increases. This topiary will have a richer smell, but the number of coffee beans needed to create the composition will increase significantly.

After drying, coffee beans are glued to the core of the future flower with the grooves down. If desired, they can be attached in two layers and coated with colorless acrylic varnish. A strong branch is sanded and tightly wrapped with green thread. Instead, the branch can be covered with 2 layers of green paint. You will get a strong and beautiful stem for a sunflower. The flower head is fixed on the top with glue. After the glue has dried, the junction of the stem and the head is completely covered with the remaining green petals.

Finishing touches

To make the composition look especially elegant, you can decorate the pot. Dry branches are cut into equal pieces. Then the resulting sticks are wrapped on top and bottom with a thin rope or cord, tightly attached to each other. You should get a kind of fence that sticks to the walls of the pot. A little instant coffee is added to the acrylic varnish, and the mixture is applied to the sticks. As a result, the pot becomes beautiful and shiny, it exudes a light but persistent coffee aroma.

If the pot has drainage holes, they should be covered with plastic wrap. Plaster or alabaster is diluted in a separate container. A sunflower is placed in the center of the pot and filled with liquid gypsum almost to the edge (a 0.5 cm indentation is desirable). It will take at least 10 minutes for the substance to harden, during which time the flower must be held with your hands. After fixing, the upper part of the pot is decorated with green sisal, imitating fresh grass, and it is attached to the hardened plaster with a couple of drops of glue.

A ribbon tied over the pot will add additional decorativeness to the work. It will turn the composition into a full-fledged gift. Before delivery, the topiary can be packaged in transparent cellophane, which will not only protect the craft from dust and damage, but also in the best possible way will highlight the beauty of the souvenir.

They will make work even more elegant and cheerful. Butterflies and other insects made of wood and plastic are sold in souvenir and florist shops; you can also make them yourself.

Having learned how to make the simplest topiary, you can try to make more complex compositions. Interesting master classes worth looking in craft magazines, original ideas you can come up with it yourself.
