Craft a rooster from egg trays

Here's what you can make a rooster. This is completely junk material, but wonderful crafts are made from it. For work you will need:
  • egg trays;
  • acrylic paints;
  • thin white paper;
  • cardboard;
  • newspapers;
  • scissors;
  • glue gun;
  • brushes;
  • pencil.
From the protruding parts of the tray, cut blanks that are similar in shape to elongated petals. When you make the head of the rooster, they need to be glued together with thin white paper to create a semblance of a flower. Cut out a bird's beard from the side of the box. The rounded triangle will become its beak, this blank must be glued on the side. For the beak, you will need 2 such parts.

Cut out bird wings from cardboard using a glue gun, glue them with blanks from egg trays that look like leaves.

Most of your time will be spent waiting for the body of the papier-mâché rooster to dry. Therefore, it is better to start work with its formation. Cut the newspapers into strips, dilute the glue with water in a 1: 2 ratio in a container. Dip the paper here, stick it on the inflated balloon. It will take more than one hour for this part to dry. When this happens, pierce the ball with a sharp object, take it out through the small hole left.

This rounded workpiece must be cut into two unequal parts, insert the smaller one into the larger one to increase the strength of the part. Glue these elements with a glue gun.

While the papier mache was drying, you had enough time to form the head and neck of the rooster. To the part that looks like a flower with elongated petals, made using petals from an egg tray, glue two triangular beak blanks, a comb cut out of cardboard.

Insert the second one into this flower blank, then the third, fourth and fifth. The head and neck of the bird are ready. Glue this piece to the side of the papier-mâché balloon half. To do this, we attach a strip of cardboard inside the neck with a glue gun so that it looks out from below. We glue this label to the papier-mache half of the body.

To make the tail, draw semicircular lines on the lid from under the eggs, cut them out.

Glue the tail to the back of the body. That's it, you can paint the cockerel with acrylics when it dries, hand the craft to the addressee or put it in the most prominent place in your house, as a bright attribute of the holiday.

You can make a rooster with your own hands not only for the New Year, but also for Easter. Then you put colored eggs in his semicircular body, decorate the festive table in this way.

Symbol of 2017 from plastic bottles

If you decide to celebrate the New Year in the country, then make a rooster - a symbol of 2017, which is not afraid of either snow or water. Plastic bottles are perfect for this.

To make a rooster with your own hands for the year of the Rooster, prepare all the necessary materials, in particular
  • five-liter canister;
  • plastic bottle of 5 liters;
  • metal-plastic tube;
  • 2 plastic bottles of 1.5 liters;
  • corrugated pipe;
  • thick copper wire;
  • plastic bottles for feathers;
  • perforated tape;
  • acrylic putty;
  • fine mesh;
  • sandpaper;
  • awl;
  • construction foam;
  • stationery knife;
  • glue gun;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • scissors;
  • screwdriver.
Right now you will learn how to make a rooster from bottles step by step instructions will help with this. Make this design using self-tapping screws, scissors.

Bend the metal-plastic pipe to make two legs of a rooster out of it. Attach them to a five-liter canister with self-tapping screws. To make the animal's neck, cut a large canvas from a 5-liter bottle, fold it into an envelope, and secure with self-tapping screws. From one and a half liter bottles, cut off their upper parts below the shoulders, obliquely. Put them on the top of the bird's legs, also attach these parts with self-tapping screws or a glue gun.

To make bird feathers, cut off the neck of a bottle. Using scissors, cut out 5 longitudinal feathers.

Put corrugated tubes on the legs of the rooster, start decorating the thickened parts with feathers. To fix them, make two holes in each with an awl, insert a piece of wire here that needs to be tied to the base.

Cover the body of the bird with feathers, starting from where the tail grows. The back is not finished yet.

Fold the wire so that you get two paws, each with three fingers, put pieces of corrugated pipes on these blanks.

Cut long and narrow claws from the bottom of the bottle. Attach them to the glue gun or to the "Installation Moment".

Spray paint the resulting blank, using one color for the torso and another color for the legs.

Cut out the head of a cockerel from the construction foam using a clerical knife.

Take sandpaper, sand this part with it, then apply acrylic putty.

When this coating dries, smooth the surface again with sandpaper, then coat with PVA.

In order for the paint to lie well on the cockerel's head, a trick is used, having previously covered it with PVA. In this case, the paint adheres well, and its layer will be more durable.

From a fine mesh, cut out a part that will become the wings, back and tail of a rooster, glue long blanks from a plastic bottle to it to decorate this part with feathers. At the top, the wings are made from corrugated bottles.

Paint the wings, when the mortar dries, attach this part of the torso with perforated tape and self-tapping screws. Cut from bottles of 2.5 and 2 liters of elongated feathers, cutting each container into 5 parts. Paint them on both sides, after drying, attach with a wire to a metal mesh.

To make it easier to paint plastic bottles in a light color, take transparent ones, cut feathers from them for the back. Attach them with wire, 4 pieces at a time for self-tapping screws.

Attach the bird's head to its place with long self-tapping screws, cover the already painted parts with polyethylene, paint the rest. Make spurs for a rooster out of wire, after which you can put it in its intended place in the country house or at home.

It's even easier to make your next bird out of plastic bottles.

For this you will need:
  • two plastic bottles with a volume of 2–2.5 liters with small necks, and one of the same volume, but with a large one;
  • disposable plastic cups in two colors;
  • disposable plates;
  • wrapping paper or trash bag;
  • plastic ball;
  • eyes for dolls;
  • Scotch;
  • stationery knife;
  • glue;
  • scissors.
Cut off the first plastic bottle with a short neck below the shoulders, process the second and third in the same way. Attach the other two to the first one, so that on one side you get a blank for the tail, and on the other for the body and throat, connect the parts with adhesive tape.

For plastic cups, cut the top into strips 8–10 mm wide. In length, they will occupy a third of the height of the glass. Put these blanks on the high neck of the bottle, alternating in color. Cut off the bottom of the last cup. Chop this container not only on one side, but also on the other side into thin strips. The middle will remain intact.

Just below the rim of the plates, cut semicircular feathers from plastic plates, cut them with scissors on one side to make thin feathers. In the bottle, which is located on the opposite side of the neck, make an incision, insert the tail feathers here, secure with tape.

Attach the ball to the top cup, secure it with tape. Cover the cut for the tail with wrapping paper or a piece cut out in the form of a fan from a colored garbage bag. Cut wings out of plastic plates, glue them to the sides of the bird with tape.

From plastic plates, cut out a comb, a beard, a cockerel's beak. Make three cuts in the foam ball, insert these blanks here, glue them for greater strength of the connection. Take ready-made eyes for toys, or make them yourself from a white foam plate, cut out the pupils from a black garbage bag. Glue on the eyes.

If you want to learn how to make a bottle rooster even faster, then check out the third tutorial in this section.

  1. Cut off the bottom of a large plastic bottle, put it on a fence peg or a stick specially dug into the ground for this occasion.
  2. If the bird will stand in the house, then paste over its lower part with strips of colored paper, make the wings and scallop from cardboard of the appropriate shades. If the cock will be on the street, then these parts must be waterproof.
  3. Create stripes from colorful trash bags (by tying or gluing them), wings, nose, comb, beard from colored plastic.
  4. Take two white bottle caps, draw pupils here with black acrylic paint, glue them to the head.
  5. The tail is made from bottles of different sizes and colors. Cut off their bottoms, chop with scissors almost to the shoulders into thin strips. Insert one bottle into another, fix them with wire, tape or glue.

Salt Dough Rooster

Such a three-dimensional picture looks great, but it is performed in an unusual way.

To make such a panel, take:
  • 120 ml of water;
  • 180 g fine salt;
  • 370 g flour;
  • 1.5 st. l. vegetable oil;
  • acrylic paints;
  • rooster pattern.

  1. You will make a cardboard image of this bird when you transfer the presented drawing to paper.
  2. Mix flour with salt, pour vegetable oil and water here. Knead the dough well, cover it with a cloth to rest for 20 minutes.
  3. Now you can roll it into a layer, put a template on top, cut a rooster from salt dough on it. With the same knife, apply veins of feathers on the tail, wings, and neck to the blank.
  4. If you want the bird to be voluminous, then separately mold the wings, buttons, and the upper part of the scallop.
  5. Leave this result of creativity for the dough to dry. To do this, place the product in a well-ventilated area to give the workpiece greater strength. Dry it for a day in this way, then heat the oven to 50 degrees.
  6. With two spatulas, transfer it to a baking sheet covered with paper, sprinkled with flour. Make a minimum fire, dry at this temperature for 2 hours. Remove the product, cool it.
  7. Now we need to paint our fiery rooster with acrylics of different colors, and then varnish.

If you have clear nail polish, it's great for coloring the salt dough rooster.

You can also fashion a voluminous rooster from salt dough. Then the figurine needs to dry well for two days.

DIY crafts of roosters from coffee beans

This is not a simple rooster, but a magnet. To make it, you need to stock up:
  • a piece of burlap;
  • a piece of red felt;
  • coffee beans;
  • a sheet of cardboard;
  • rhinestones and sequins;
  • crochet;
  • threads;
  • glue gun.
Draw on cardboard an image of the future hero, which was a more realistic craft for a rooster symbol of 2017. With your own hands you will need to cut out the contours of this character. It is also necessary to cut out a semicircular wing from burlap and a comb with a beard from felt.

Color the cardboard body of the cockerel with a brown pencil. At the bottom, with the help of a needle, into which the thread is set to match, form two cockerel legs out of it, make paws out of brown-painted cardboard, as well as a tail blank that needs to be glued in place.

Make a beautiful fluffy tail out of threads, glue it on a cardboard blank. Also glue on the body, bypassing the wing, coffee beans, attach them to the ends of the legs. Glue a magnet on the back of the body. Decorate the wing with sequins and rhinestones.

We sew, knit, embroider crafts of roosters

These needlework techniques will also help you create crafts for the year of the rooster 2017. If you know how to embroider, then the following diagram will help you. Thus, you can arrange a small decorative pillow, a pocket of an apron sewn from plain fabric, or make a panel.

If you decide to knit a sweater for a child as a gift, calculate the loops so that this poultry flaunts in the center in front.

The diagram shows which colors to use. To make them all look good, knit a sweater from white yarn.

If the listed types of needlework are not yet within your power, then make a cockerel on a stick from the remnants of ribbons, threads, fabrics.

Here's what to prepare:
  • linen square with sides 15 cm;
  • red canvas measuring 5 × 20 cm;
  • multi-colored ribbons;
  • soft filler;
  • threads;
  • jute;
  • twig;
  • red yarn;
  • a needle;
  • wooden stick.

  1. Fold the linen diagonally, trim one corner a little. Stitch one and the other side with a basting stitch, but leave a free space between these sidewalls, which is marked in the photo with a pencil. Through it, you will subsequently fill the figure with filler, insert a wooden stick here as well.
  2. Insert a branch into the cut hole in the corner, fix with turns of red yarn. This is the head and beak of a cockerel.
  3. Fill the workpiece with synthetic winterizer. Insert a stick there, secure this part by tightly tying it with red threads.
  4. Take a strip of red felt, fold it in half, put it on one and the other side of the cockerel's head. Wind the top and bottom with thread to separate the comb and beard. Cut the beard at the bottom with scissors.
  5. Fold satin ribbons of different colors in half, attach them to the tail, tie with red thread. Also form the wings of the rooster, just sew them on the sides.
  6. Embroider the bird's eyes with black thread or make them from beads. After that, the wonderful rooster symbol of 2017 is ready.

Check out another idea by watching the video. It tells how to make a nylon rooster craft.

If the children want to learn how to make it out of paper, then show them the second video.

Hello, friends! Today is about how to make a craft rooster from plasticine, cones, acorns, leaves, in general, from natural material.

Children's imagination has no limits. Cones, chestnuts or nuts are not just the fruits of trees, but also an excellent building material for the production of amazing crafts.

In our case, ordinary pine cones have turned into a fabulous cockerel Petya. With such a colorful character, you can even perform in a puppet theater, and not just participate in an exhibition of autumn crafts.

For work you will need:

  • two cones of Scotch pine
  • acorn caps
  • dried oblong leaves
  • twig
  • plasticine

We immediately attach plasticine eyes to one of the cones. At the same time we fashion a large red crest and two triangular details for the beak.

Now we will connect the parts of the beak and decorate the edges of the ridge with thin grooves.

Here is the torso of a rooster with a yellow plasticine neck.
You can immediately attach the head to the body. Let's take the opportunity and connect these elements.

Now you can get autumn dried leaves from the herbarium and choose suitable samples for decorating the wings of a rooster craft. We liked this option. We connected one sheet of rowan and wild grapes into a wing, gluing the parts with a piece of orange plasticine.
We attach multi-colored wings to the body.

We also collected a long tail from autumn leaves. The plasticine base was covered on both sides with a layer of red, yellow and green leaves.

We make thin legs of crafts from twigs (up to 5 cm long), acorn caps and yellow plasticine. It should be borne in mind that such legs will not physically be able to hold the cockerel in a standing position. We will have to plant a hero.

The work on the fairy-tale hero has come to an end. Decorate the background with a bright picture. Our rooster lives in his own hut. Today a frog came to visit him.

We just have to remind you that such crafts should be placed away from sunny window sills. Cones tend to bloom under warm rays, and plasticine - to melt. The cockerel will feel comfortable in a shaded place.

Beads for eyes
- hot glue

- acrylic paints
- balloon

- scissors
- 2 beads

In order to create the neck and head, connect 5 cones together. At the top, they will expand and become larger in size. Cut out the scallop from the side of the tray. From the lid, cut out the beak, which will consist of two parts. Feathers are also created from cones. They are fixed on top of the cardboard with hot glue. The length of one wing is - 15 cm. Similarly, make blanks for the tail.

The next step is to create paws. Bend the shape of the paws from the copper wire. In order to give the desired effect, twist the corrugated tube. Insert the left tail between the corrugated and metal tube. For strength, fill the lower part with glue. Cut out the claws from the bottom. They should be long and narrow. They need to be attached with glue. Paint the legs with the body with spray paint.

Prepare a stationery knife and construction foam. All cuts should be neat and even. You can cut pieces individually. Lastly, glue them together. You can bring it to the desired shape with sandpaper. Treat additionally with acrylic putty, wait until it dries completely, plaster again and treat with PVA glue. It will allow the paint to take on better.

Start painting from the head. Glue the eyes on the head. To create a beautiful scallop, make a pattern on paper, transfer it to foam, cut it out, and glue it to a suitable place. Take care of preparing the shape for the wings. Leave the back open. Cover the top of the wings with feathers made from corrugated bottles. Fold the last row inside the wing. Paint over with paint, leave to dry, attach with perforated tape and a self-tapping screw. Make a tail. Take the mesh, bend it. Cut feathers from bottles. Paint them separately on both sides. Apply black first, and then a little blue. Attach the feathers to the mesh with wire. Once the paint is dry, cut the feathers into two more pieces to make the tail look even fuller.

How to sew a cockerel with your own hands

You will need:

Cardboard
- thread, scissors
- orange, blue-green, black and white fabric
- tweezers
- cotton wool
- Scotch
- glue
- colored paper

Stages of work:

Draw a sample of the toy on a piece of cardboard, cut it out. Separately draw a wing, cut it out, see how they will look. Make a beard, paw, beak, scallop and eyes from colored paper. Sew all the details for the head. There may be some difficulties with sewing on the comb. The fact is that it is wider than the head. It is better to sew it on the outside. Glue eyes from colored paper.

Do-it-yourself cockerel costume:

For the body, make allowances of 1.5 cm. Connect the details from the inside. Sew the tip of the foot inward. Sew the wings on the outside, put soft filler inside. If it is not at hand, ordinary cardboard will do. Sew the lower half from the outside, sew to the body, connect through the cardboard with a seam. Fit the body to the head. Sew the neck to the body. Fill the connected parts with cotton wool. You need to fill through the hole in the tail. The hole is very small, so you need to fill the craft with cotton wool in small portions. You may need to use tweezers. Sew the details of the tail with the outer seam, fill it with cotton.

Paws can be made from cardboard or a piece of fabric. Choose the fabric of the right size and color, make a few square details. Trim the ends, sew the oblong paws. Fill with cotton. Sew legs, wings, tail to the body. Cut off without touching the seams. DIY cockerel toy is ready.

2. Develop the child's fine motor skills.
3. Continue to develop the ability to use glue when gluing parts.

5. Cultivate accuracy when doing work.

You can read a poem about a cockerel.
noisy cockerel,
Red-scarlet scallop.
In the morning a little light rises,
He sings a song loudly.
He's got so much to do
I got up early and got everything done!
(L. Lukanova)
For work we need: orange cardboard sheet, colored paper, glue, scissors, pencil, ruler.

1. The teacher makes a cap out of cardboard, cut off the excess, glue the side.

2. From red colored paper, the teacher cuts out strips 1 cm wide and 10 cm long. The child folds them in half and glues the ends. You need 3 of these strips for the comb and one for the beard.

3. The child sticks three strips on the top of our cap, the teacher helps him to place them correctly.

4. The child sticks the last strip on the middle of the cap, this will be the cockerel's beard.

5. Now we need to cut out the beak, for this the teacher cuts out a strip, 1.5 cm wide and 7 cm long, cuts off the corners at both edges.

6. The child sticks the middle of this strip just above the beard, the teacher helps him.

7. This is the beak of the cockerel. The child draws eyes with a blue pencil or felt-tip pen.

8. Let's start making the tail. The teacher cuts out strips 1 cm wide and 13 cm long. They need to be rounded a little, for this you can use scissors.

9. The child glues the strips on the cockerel's back.

10. Let's start making paws. The teacher cuts strips, 1.5 cm wide. and 20 cm long and folds them like an accordion, shapes the fingers, cutting out three corners.

11. The child sticks these strips on the inside of the cap, from below. Here we have such a cock.

Craft for children: paper cockerel. Five master classes for children of preschool and primary school age with step-by-step photographs and creative tasks.

Craft for children: paper cockerel

In this article you will find five options for making crafts - a cockerel with children of preschool and primary school age.

Master class 1. Craft - a cockerel based on a cone

In the first master class, the children and I will very simply and quickly make a toy - a cockerel. The finished craft can be both a toy for the Christmas tree, and a toy for staging a fairy tale, or just a gift - a souvenir. Even kids can do it together with adults.

Tools and materials for making a paper cockerel

For work you need to prepare:

  • colored paper in yellow and red,
  • multi-colored strips of paper for quilling (you can use a ready-made set or cut them yourself from colored paper),
  • glue stick,
  • black marker,
  • scissors,
  • pattern is a circle.

Step-by-step description of making crafts

The base of the cockerel must be made from a half circle. Any round shape that can be circled on paper is suitable for this: a tea cup, a lid, or any jar. Decide on the size of the toy yourself.

Step 1. For the blank, circle a circle of the size you need on paper (I used the lid from a jar of hand cream as a circle template). Cut out the circle and cut it in half.

Step 2 Twist a cone from a half circle and glue it.

Step 3 From red paper cut out:

  • two parts for a cockerel scallop,
  • detail of the beard of a rooster in the shape of an inverted heart (it is necessary to cut half of the detail along the fold),
  • detail for the beak (we also cut out half of the detail along the fold in the form of an equilateral triangle, when you unfold it, you get a diamond shape).

By the way, we drew these details by hand, by eye.

Step 4 Lubricate the upper part of the parts of the cockerel scallop with glue up to half and glue. Then bend the bottom of the part and smear it with glue.

Step 5. Glue the details on the craft.

  • Stick the resulting scallop blank onto the cone.
  • Glue the details of the beak and beard onto the cone.

Step 6. Make a cockerel's tail from strips of paper and wings. For this:

- Cut multi-colored strips of paper 10 cm long, fold them in half and glue 3-4 different colors together. These are the details of the tail

- Wings can be made in a similar way, only smaller. Or you can just glue short strips together and slightly twist the edges, giving them a concave shape.

Step 7. We finish the design of the craft.

- Glue the resulting blanks to the cone in the area of \u200b\u200bthe tail and wings of the cockerel.

- Draw the eyes of a rooster with a black felt-tip pen.

The rooster is ready. If you want to hang a craft, then it remains only to thread the thread through the comb, make a loop and hang the toy on the Christmas tree.

Creative tasks for children

It is very important that the child, having mastered the manufacture of cone-based crafts, learns to come up with his own versions of such crafts according to his own plan, changing the details.

Think and discuss with the children:

  • What animals can be depicted on the basis of a cone?
  • What Christmas toys can be made on the basis of a cone?
  • Try to make Santa Claus and Snow Maiden toys or others that your kid wants to invent and make on the basis of a cone.

Creative success to you!

Master class 2. Cockerel - a bookmark for paper books

In the second master class, we will learn how to make a cockerel with the children, which will be a wonderful gift. It can serve as both a toy and a bookmark. Such a cockerel can be made together with adults by children of senior preschool and primary school age.

We will not just do crafts, but also try ourselves as a designer! So let's start.

Tools and materials for making a cockerel

For work you will need:

  • two-sided colored paper,
  • any glue,
  • black gouache and brush,
  • scissors.

How to make a cockerel: step by step description

Let's dream up a little with you and test ourselves as a designer in making crafts - a paper cockerel.

Step 1

First, let's work with the template. We need to cut out such a pentagonal blank from paper of any color according to the template (see photo below).

Step 2

Like any constructor, we must be able to use the tool. Our tool will be a ruler.

- Attach a ruler so that the corners are aligned along it: the top of the pentagon and the right corner at the base.

- Pressing the ruler firmly against the workpiece, raise its right corner up.

This is how it should turn out for you (see photo below).

Step 3

Similarly wrap up and the left corner of the pentagon.

Step 4 Cut and glue the details of the craft.

- The beak, paws and scallop of the cockerel can be made according to the template. But the children and I decided to express ourselves each in our own way and cut out these details without a template, but on our own, whoever can and who came up with how.

- A beard can be made in the shape of a heart and glued by turning it upside down.

- Glue the wrapped edges of the cockerel body blank together. Glue the scallop and paws to the workpiece.

- With the back of the brush, use gouache to put 2 dots - the eyes of a rooster.

And already the image of the cockerel appears!

Step 5

- Glue the beak (it is made in the form of a rhombus or can be flat, triangular in shape).

- Glue on the beard.

And now the mischievous cockerel is ready!

Step 6

If you want to hang the craft, then you need to thread the thread through the comb.

And you can make a bookmark from this craft. To do this, you need to cut a strip of paper and stick the resulting toy on it - a cockerel. Daryana and Vika wished to make bookmarks. Here's what happened to the kids.

Creative task for children

- And what else can you think of, taking the pentagon pattern as a basis?

- Try to make a toy according to the model and come up with a new image yourself.

Good luck in your work!

Do-it-yourself cockerel made of colored paper. Master class with a detailed description

Paper cone toy. Master Class

Zinaida Arkadievna Startseva, teacher of the MBDOU "Kindergarten No. 40".
Description: this master class is intended for children from 4 years old to school graduates, as well as for parents, educators, primary school teachers, teachers of additional education and all creative people. Four-year-old children can cut strips of colored paper for the tail and wings themselves, glue the loops, assemble the tail and wings from the loops, it is better to give the cone ready (or glue it together from the finished semicircle). Children of this age need the help of an adult in the design of the beak, comb, beard and eye of the cockerel. Older preschoolers, seeing the pattern and algorithm of work, will cope with the work with a little help from an adult.
Elementary school students can make a cockerel on their own.
During the master class, poems about a cockerel from Internet sites were used.

Purpose: a symbol of the new 2017 - a gift, an interior decoration for the New Year, a Christmas tree pendant toy, a toy for a table theater. As well as a kind of art therapy: working with bright materials creates a positive mood. A handmade toy pleases both the master and the people around him.

Target: creating paper crafts based on a cone

2. Put the scissors on the right side with closed blades pointing away from you.
3. Pass scissors only with rings forward with closed blades.
4. Scissors should be well adjusted and sharpened (because on the front side of the postcard you need to carefully cut out the "window");
5. Keep scissors out of the reach of young children.

Wonderful New Year's Eve great time for new year holidays.
Serious adults, busy with important things on weekdays, on these days filled with magic, return to childhood for a while. They make wishes, dance, ride down the hills, have fun like children.
According to the Eastern calendar in 2017 January 28 is the Year of the Rooster. It does not matter what nationality and religion a person believes in horoscopes and predictions or not, the New Year is a holiday for everyone and everyone, a holiday of joyful meetings and gifts.
Why not make a New Year's cockerel out of paper with your own hands?
Everyone can become a Wizard, having pleased and surprised relatives and friends with a bright gift. There is information that people born in the year of the Rooster love to decorate themselves and their home, have design and creative abilities. We will also try, having shown our creativity, to create a decoration for the interior.
To begin with, we will determine the size of the future crafts, think over and prepare the necessary templates.

Draw a semicircle template on the white side of colored paper and cut it out.

We glue a thread of rain (a thin cord or braid) to the center of the workpiece, this will be a loop so that you can hang the toy on the Christmas tree.

Gently apply glue to the straight part of the semicircle.

Carefully fold the semicircle, connect the sides smeared with glue, glue the cone. This will be the body of our cockerel.

We start working with small details, trace the patterns of the beak and beard of the cockerel on colored paper and cut it out.

We bend the rectangular part of the beak down and glue the beard on it. Here's what we got.

Next, glue the rectangular part of the beak with glue and glue it together with the beard on the top of the cone. Attention, make sure that the beak is glued against the back of the cockerel (the glued side of the cone)

It's time to glue on the eyes. The work is painstaking, requires attention and concentration. You can simplify the manufacturing process and draw eyes with a bright marker.

We make a preparation for the scallop. Cut the fringed edge of the red stripe. I took two of these strips.

Glue the scallop to the crown of the cockerel.
"-Well, Petya-cockerel!-
Pigs were surprised.
- Why are you a scallop
Do you wear it on top?
The rooster says in response:
"I don't have pockets!"

Let's move on to making the wings. Cut paper into strips.

We glue the ends of the strip, turning each strip into a loop.

We collect loops of different colors together and glue them - we get a cockerel wing. Glue the second wing in the same way.

And glue the finished wings on the cone on the left and right.
"The rooster spread its wings,
So that dreams suddenly come true.
Help everyone this year
Bring good luck to everyone!"

The blanks for the tail differ in size and texture of the paper.
If you want to make a more colorful cockerel's tail, glossy paper strips can be glued with plain colored paper strips, thus making the glossy paper double-sided. You can leave the stripes unchanged, or initially take double-sided paper.

In any case, we glue the ends of the strip, turning each strip into a loop.

We glue all the loops together - we get a luxurious cockerel tail.

Find the glued side of the cone.

We smear the tail with glue and glue it firmly to the base.

Our cockerel is ready.
"Petya - Petya cockerel,
purple red scallop,
golden feathers,
The head is chiselled.
Walks proudly around the yard
He wears spurs, a beard,
Singing very loudly
And rises with the dawn!

Cockerel on the tree.

The cockerel feels comfortable in the New Year's interior.

Petya, Petya-Cockerel, important and beautiful,
Do it yourself Cockerel - the year will be happy!

When creating your craft, you can use paper, cardboard, waste material of any color and texture, the main thing is that you can roll and glue a cone from the resulting blank. There can also be many design options for a scallop, beard, tail and wings, depending on the availability of paper and your imagination.
Here we made such a cockerel from waste material, using the pages of a glossy magazine.

In the course of joint creative activity in a group with children, we glued and designed such cockerels as a gift to parents.
Beautiful bright cockerels
We made it ourselves.
Let's bring gifts home
On New Year's day of winter! (Author's quatrain)
