Description of work
The shorts are knitted from the bottom.
Before: first we do the pant legs, right and left separately. For each of them, you need to cast on a number of loops that is equal to ¼ hip volume + 11 loops (gusset). Please note: the first starting row should be “lush”. If the thread you are using is thin or too elastic, you need to make this row or the first two rows slightly heavier (that is, do it in two threads, and then in the finished product, use a crochet hook to tie it in half-columns).
Please note - there are 11 loops on each leg, - a one-piece gusset. Next, you will need to reunite both pant legs into a single piece, so these loops will go away. For example, pattern repeat = 12 loops. For the right leg you need to finish the last whole repeat + 11 loops according to the pattern, but for the left you need to start with 11 loops, then the first whole repeat.
We knit about 11 cm in a straight line. Next, you need to decrease 3+3+2+1+1 loops respectively in each row. Then, when both parts are ready, you need to connect them on one knitting needle. If everything is done correctly, the drawing should completely match the rapports. This way the front part in the middle will be solid. Please note: the side seam is vertical.
We form a bevel for the pockets (along the side seam from the middle of the length). For bevels, it is necessary to reduce the number of loops evenly, which will be equal to 2 cm, respectively, on each side. We finish knitting with an auxiliary thread.
Back (back): we perform the trouser legs, left and right separately. For each, we cast on a number of loops equal to ¼ of the hip volume + 18 loops (for the gusset). Similar to the front part. Decrease to form the gusset of the shorts: 5+4+2+2+2+1+1+1.
Pocket: don't make it too deep. We add about 5cm of additional loops on each side. Then we knit in a straight line to a height that will be equal to the length of the front part along the side seam. The side seam is vertical. When making the back of the shorts, we start from the characteristics of the figure (volume of the buttocks). We finish knitting with an auxiliary thread. We return to the pocket, it needs to be deepened.
We return the additional loops cast on to the working needle. We knit down (relative to the main fabric) about 2 cm - the pocket lining (with stockinette stitch - this is the lining).
The second part of the pocket lining. We put on the knitting needles the same thread that was used to finish the pocket. The number of loops is equal to what we cast to form the pocket on the back (i.e. = 5cm). We knit 2 cm in a straight line, then decrease on one side (as on the side seam of the front part). Height = ½ the length of the shorts, so everything should line up with the front if applied with the appropriately beveled edge.
Pocket processing
We put stitches on a knitting needle along the beveled edge of the front part and knit several rows in stockinette stitch. The wrong side of the work when turning over should thus become the front side of the pocket and be rolled up. On the other hand, we do the same.
Side seam assembly
It is necessary to sew the beveled edge of the lining to the beveled edge of the front part so that the trim roll remains free, that is, not sewn. Along the outer edge we sew the lining and back, forming a pocket. Next, we sew the shorts directly along the side seam.
Belt.
Next, you need to transfer the loops to circular knitting needles and unravel the auxiliary thread. We do the work with an elastic band, then, in the center - one row of IP (fold point), then knit the belt again with an elastic band. Sew the waistband on the wrong side and pull in the elastic.
Sew the crotch seams and gusset.
1-6 r: all LP.
