How to make a DIY birthday present for a friend - part 1

For a birthday, it is customary to give the best gifts that a person has dreamed of for a long time. Or just something unusual and original. But what to give so that such a present will be remembered for a long time?

Especially if you need to give a gift not just to an unfamiliar person, but to your best friend. We suggest reading our series of articles in which we will analyze in detail the different types of presentations. And the first in line is we have a do-it-yourself gift for a friend's birthday.

If your friend is a big lover of something tasty, then such a gift will definitely not leave him indifferent!

What you need:

  • Candy or chocolates
  • Discount coupons.
  • Super glue.
  • Flower pot.
  • Artificial grass.
  • Bamboo skewers.
  • Sintepon.

It is very easy to make such a gift, and its instructions consist of just a few points. First, glue all the sweets and coupons on the skewers. Then put the synthetic winterizer in the pot.

Can be replaced with styrofoam, foam, or whatever is at hand. Cover the top with grass or moss.

Insert the skewers gently into the pot. The largest gift is best placed at the back so that it does not obscure the view of others.

Ready! You can go and hand over such a peculiar and delicious bouquet.

Coffee cup

Such a present is suitable for a person whose day begins with aromatic coffee. Making it a little more difficult, but not difficult.

What you need:

  • Plain mug.
  • Coffee beans.
  • Cotton pads.
  • Brown acrylic paint.
  • The disks are wadded.
  • Super glue.
  • Threads.

How to do:

First, cover the mug with cotton pads.

Cover the entire surface completely.

To keep the discs tighter, thread them around them.

Paint over everything with brown paint.

Now start gluing with grains. It is best to do this in several layers so that no gaps remain.

As a final step, decorate the mug with a bow or ribbon of your choice.

But this is not the only option for what you can make from coffee. There are several gift options below.

Silhouette on canvas

Such a birthday present for a friend with his own hands can look very simple, but also stylish at the same time.

To make it, you will need:

  • Canvas.
  • Several old glossy magazines.
  • Scissors.
  • Glue. If possible - for decoupage.
  • Acrylic paints in your preferred color.

How to do it?

At the beginning, cut all the pages of the magazines into small pieces. Try to choose some bright, colorful elements. By the way, if you wish, you can take not even magazines, but joint photos. Perhaps such a gift will be more pleasant and memorable.

Now that you have a whole bunch of these cuts, carefully glue them to the canvas. To make everything work out faster, coat the canvas with glue and put pieces of paper on it.

Thus, cover the entire canvas. But it is not necessary to strive to do everything correctly and smoothly. Randomness is only welcome!

Then we leave to dry for several hours.

While the canvas is drying, you can search the internet for the silhouette you would like to make. In our case, this is a bird on a branch. Just draw the desired image on thick cardboard and cut it out.

Place the cutout silhouette on the canvas and trace around it with a pencil.

Now start painting over everything except the outlined image with acrylic paint. Be careful around the edges!

Gift decoration

In the event that the gift has already been selected and purchased, and you want to add originality, you can make an unusual packaging with your own hands.

What you need:

  • A regular dish sponge.
  • Decorative confetti.
  • Bright ribbon.
  • Scissors.
  • Hole puncher.
  • A pair of toothpicks.
  • Super glue.

How to do it?

First, you need to cut out the desired picture from the sponge. It can be a letter, a figure, or even a whole word! Use a hole punch to punch a hole in the corner.

Then start gently covering the surface of the sponge with super glue. For greater convenience, you can distribute it with toothpicks. If you do not want to get dirty, then stick a toothpick into a sponge and hold it there until you apply the weight of the glue.

Gently sprinkle brightly colored dusting over the pasted sponge and leave to dry. It is better not to touch anything during this time. To make sure the glue is absorbed, leave it for a day. When the glue is completely frozen, turn the figure over and repeat the application of the glue and sprinkle from the previous steps.

As a final piece, thread the ribbon through the hole from the hole punch and tie it to the bag that contains your gift.

This completes the original design of the gift. You will find even more options for both the presentation itself and its decorations if you look at our gallery and video in this article.
