At all times, people tried to protect their homes from evil eyes and the invasion of evil spirits. For these purposes, special magic items, amulets and talismans were usually used. In Ancient Russia, such things were sure to be in every home. They, as a rule, were made with their own hands. This endowed the amulet with special strength, giving it the right energy. A protective broom was considered one of the most powerful talismans.

There were many beliefs in Ancient Russia. One of them claims that in each hut there lives a small fabulous creature - a brownie, who is responsible for the well-being and protects the household from various adversities. He lives behind the stove, and rests and gains strength, lying on a broom. In this regard, the item used for domestic needs was always tried to keep clean and changed annually. People feared that if these conditions were neglected, the brownie would get angry and harm them.

In addition to the usual broom, in every ancient Slavic hut there was necessarily a ritual broom, decorated with all kinds of decorative objects, located in the most honorable place. It was he who served as a home amulet. It was made by the oldest woman in the house. For everyday needs, a magic object was not used, but could be used to sweep troubles and misunderstandings between households out of the hut. In addition, there was a belief that if you knock on the threshold of the house three times with a broom-amulet, then happiness and prosperity will come to the family.

To give the amulet strength, it must be properly decorated

What symbols will give strength to the amulet

It is customary to decorate a broom amulet with decorative elements, each of which has its own meaning:

  • the image of the house will strengthen the relationship between the spouses;
  • a bright red poppy flower will fulfill the cherished dreams of the owners;
  • a bag with a coin inserted into it will attract wealth to the house;
  • garlic will save you from evil spirits, evil forces and negative energy;
  • a horseshoe will bring good luck;
  • nuts, acorns and cones will help in endeavors, attract good luck;
  • various grains and beans will give strength to the owners, make their life more prosperous;
  • needles will protect against damage;
  • pepper will give the head of the family male strength;
  • rose hips will allow the mistress of the house to always remain healthy and attractive;
  • bay leaf will bring success;
  • small bast shoes will give home comfort and peace;
  • dried apricots and raisins will attract joyful events;
  • corn symbolizes respect between generations;
  • the bell will help you get pregnant.
  • It is also customary to weave various ribbons and threads into a broom. Their color also matters:

  • red represents the love and loyalty of the spouses;
  • yellow is a symbol of goodness;
  • green - to wealth, good luck.
  • A purchased broom is unlikely to become a reliable home talisman, because it is just a soulless souvenir. Only a protective broom, charged with the energy of the hostess, has true power.

    Preparing to create a talisman

    When making a talisman-amulet, some nuances should be taken into account:

  • you need to make a broom not at the request, but at the behest of the soul;
  • it is necessary to use only natural materials that inspire the hostess and are pleasant to her;
  • it should be created only in a good mood, since the manufacturer's energy is transferred to the talisman;
  • it is better to start the manufacturing process on the growing moon, since this time is considered the most favorable for magical rites.
  • Depending on how the broom will be located, its main functions change. Therefore, you need to find a place for a magic item in advance.

    How to make a protective broom

    The ancient Slavs learned how to make a talisman in different ways.

    From herbal paint brush

    The manufacturing process is very simple:

  • An ordinary paint brush is soaked in cold water for 8-10 hours.
  • Over time, they are carefully dried and collected in a broom.
  • The top of the future talisman is tied with bright threads or ribbon.
  • The wide part is spread in the form of a fan and placed under the press.
  • After a couple of hours, grease the amulet with PVA glue and attach decorative elements.
  • You can make a charm from a regular paint brush

    From tree branches

    For the manufacture of many magic items, the ancient Slavs used herbs or tree branches. It was believed that they have a special influence on humans, because they have a powerful force that mother nature endowed them with.

    The process of creating a talisman:

  • Only twigs carefully cut from the tree should be used. It is not recommended to use rods collected from the ground, as they are considered "dead" and have no power.
  • At home, the branches are folded into a broom and tied with a ribbon.
  • The front side is coated with PVA glue and decorated with the necessary decor items.
  • The type of tree from which branches are cut should also be taken into account, since this affects the value of the amulet:

  • oak trees will bring good luck, health;
  • birch will eliminate negative emotions, help get out of depression, bring harmony;
  • pine will bring peace to the house, add warmth to relationships, save you from unnecessary worries;
  • aspen will eliminate negative energy, get rid of black thoughts;
  • branches from the apple tree are used only for "female" talismans and help to reveal the beauty of the owner and attract love.
  • There is a legend that an evil person, entering a house protected by a protective broom, will leave his negative in its rods and will try to leave the house as soon as possible.

    To create a talisman, you should take into account the type of branches

    From jute threads

    To make a charm from jute threads, you will need an assistant:

  • The person sits down and puts his elbows on the table at a distance of about 30–40 cm (the desired length of the talisman).
  • The hostess winds the thread around the helper's hands. When the whole ball is used, the threads are removed and a broom is knitted, leaving a tail 5-7 cm long at the end.
  • The wide part is straightened and put under a press for a couple of hours so that it takes shape, after which it is lubricated with PVA glue on both sides and allowed to dry. The threads will become stiffer and will not fluff.
  • It remains only to decorate the broom with decorative items - and a strong talisman capable of protecting a home from all adversity is ready.

    How to use a protective broom correctly

    In order for the amulet to help, not only the energy given to him by the mistress is important, but also the place where he will perform the sacraments. Since the main task of a ritual object is to remove all negativity from housing, it means that you need to hang it above the front door. From the side of the street, the brooms should be placed with a broom upward, but if you attach it inside the house, the sweeping part should be below - this will help sweep all the bad energy out of the home.

    It is also important in which room the amulet will hang:

  • in the kitchen - for a rich and well-fed life;
  • in the living room - will attract good luck;
  • in the bedroom - will save you from illness and hardship.
  • A ritual broom will attract prosperity, health, happiness, luck and wealth to the house. But one should not forget that it should be done only in a good mood, with pure thoughts and sincere intentions. This will help charge the amulet with positive energy, which it will spread to all residents of the house.
