How to sew home slippers with your own hands. How to sew home slippers with your own hands: a beginner's guide. whipped up slippers from old jeans

Let's talk with you, readers, about how to sew home slippers. I have been sewing my own slippers for a long time, because the purchased ones do not suit them. I wear my slippers with pleasure, and they last much longer. For sewing slippers I use old things: fabric from an old coat, woolen clothes, soles from slippers. My slippers are washable and will not deteriorate.

I sew slippers in one evening. If you need these indoor slippers, then read this article.
We prepare the material for the slippers: an old woolen coat, soles from old slippers or ready-made felt insoles, woolen or flannel fabric for the inner side of the slippers, braid or bias tape made of strong material for edging.

You will also need a sewing machine, or perhaps hand-sew. Threads No. 10 for the sole and threads for sewing the top. Scissors. Decoration materials.

Sequence of work

We are preparing a pattern. The photo shows a size 37 pattern that can be increased or decreased along the leg.

We cut the top and insoles of the slippers along the shared thread. Under the upper part we cut the second part made of soft woolen or felt fabric (old things: sweaters, blouses, trousers).

You can also cut out double instep pieces for the heel.

We cut the bias tape at an angle of 45 degrees so that it fits neatly on the edge of the sneaker.

Sewing details under the heels

We connect the upper part of the slipper with the lower part and sew at a distance of 1 cm from the edge. We trim the bottom edge to 2-3 mm so that it does not interfere with sewing. We process it with an oblique inlay.

We sweep the top to the footprint, aligning the middle at the toe. Stuck on a typewriter.
We mark the bias tape and we spend it. We do not bend the lower part of the inlay, because it will be under the sole.

Sew on the details under the heels

Now we take the sole and manually sew the upper part of the slipper.

We decorate slippers in any way: flower, button, braid, applique. This action can be done earlier when sewing the top.

And now a little advice: if your slippers slide on linoleum, then glue pieces of leather on the sole and you will not slip. I have been doing this since I slipped.

Successful needlework!

We have a special attitude to indoor shoes. Slippers are associated with home comfort, relaxation with the family, warmth and comfort for tired feet. They are often dreamed of during the working day by ladies who have to wear high heels in the office, and those who wear boots or heavy boots at work, and dandies in narrow boots. For some, a symbol of simple happiness is a dog meeting its owner with slippers in its teeth. Slippers begin their history from the eastern harems, where soft, noiseless shoes were worn by their inhabitants. In Europe, graceful, decorated with exquisite embroidery, cozy slippers have become fashionable in boudoirs. Well, in the 19th century, slippers turned into a familiar and necessary item for everyone.

And in order to sew such slippers, you can take a special pattern for printing on thermal transfer under the cut. Its use greatly simplifies and speeds up the process and reduces to almost zero all possible difficulties and errors in cutting parts.

In addition to the pattern, you will need a light felt for transferring the transfer, any suitable (I only had white today) felt for the insole and, my main inspiration this week is a cork sheet. In this case, 3 mm thick. Well, glue, I liked the most to use the "Moment Crystal".

The first step is to transfer the pattern to felt. Due to the fact that recently they began to ask me more questions about translation technology, I will allow myself to say a little more about it today.

To begin with, we will need to place the pattern with the front side in felt and heat the iron to almost maximum temperature. With a hot iron, we begin to iron the sheet thoroughly, not skipping the edges of the corner.

In my opinion, it is better to slightly overheat the iron and notice during ironing that the felt has begun to melt (this is not an instant process and you will always have time to slightly weaken the heating, nothing bad will happen), than to iron everything with a cold iron and get a fragmentarily translated image, the the most spoiling both the pattern and the felt.

Let’s stroke the entire structure for about a minute, then cool it to a slightly warm state and remove the top checkered layer of paper. The picture is translated.

Cut out the details of the slippers without seam allowances.

Since I made the pattern as versatile as possible, I adhered to the principle "more is better than less." Therefore, at this stage of work, I recommend trying it on at least approximately, and if it turns out to be more than necessary, trim the sides, as shown in the photo. The size of the top and bottom, as a rule, does not need to be reduced, only if these are slippers for the baby.

Place the patterns for both slippers on a piece of felt. It is no longer necessary to take white, you can use any color.

And we attach the details with a semicircular seam. Top edge only.

Now we cut out the details along the contour, getting a double top for future slippers.

Now we need a pattern for the insole. It is very easy to get it. It is enough just to circle your foot on a sheet of paper with a decent margin, or simply take any ready-made slippers that you think are the most comfortable and circle the sole of them.

We only outline the insole, but do not cut it out. It turned out to be more convenient for me to sew in this sequence.

Now we sweep the double top of the slipper. We sweep in two approaches, starting each of them from the middle of the sock.

It will be very easy to stitch the top over the sour cream. After machine sewing, you can pull out the basting thread.

Now the slippers with the insole can be cut out, retreating 2-3 mm from the edge of the stitching. We do the same with the second slipper.

Now is the time to start the final phase. We will make the sole for the slippers. After various searches for suitable material, I settled on a traffic jam. As practice has shown, this material is quite easy to use and very lightweight. It is very practical to wear, especially in the glued version. Cork has good shock-absorbing properties and even a thin layer of it is sufficient to make slippers comfortable to use.

We take the glue and properly lubricate the bottom surface of the felt insole. The glue, among other things, perfectly stabilizes the cork, reducing its brittleness and preventing the possibility of cracking in the event of bending in the future.

We glue the insole to the cork sheet. We cut it out roughly enough, just to be able to put on the clips.

The cork is glued well and quickly, after the glue is firmly seized, you can remove the clips and cut the slippers along the contour of the insole.

You can stop at this stage of the work or additionally sew the perimeter of the slipper on a sewing machine. The cork is very easy to sew despite its thickness.

That's all, the slippers are ready. In the next photo, I tried to demonstrate that the cork glued to the felt is strong enough to bend.

How to cut fur slippers with your own hands, step by step with a photo

Experienced needlewomen are advised to start sewing slippers with simple models, slippers. They are open and closed from any handy material. By making these slippers, you can learn the basics of sewing and sewing home shoes.

The technique is very simple. To begin with, a pattern is made. According to the pattern, the patterns are applied to the material with the contours of the parts for sewing. For the sole, the material is dense and thick. Details are sewn together and decorations are attached to ready-made slippers. For convenience, when wearing, a low heel is glued to the sole. It is convenient to do this with a glue gun.

their unique sizes are removed, templates are made

You will need to take the following measurements from your leg. The circumference of the foot along the outer edge, the length of the top of the slippers along the inner edge, along the outer edge, heel.

It starts from the circumference of the foot. To do this, put your foot on a blank sheet of paper. Used for this old unused wallpaper.

You can pull the middle out of the checkered notebook. Outline your footprint with a pencil or pen. That's it, the sole for the slippers is ready! The heel of the "heel" is 1/3 of the length of the foot.

Now other measurements are being taken. All measurements are taken on the foot in accordance with the already made sole pattern. To do this, put your foot on the drawing of your foot. For the top of the slippers. Measurement of the length of the top of the slippers is taken.

For this you need a "centimeter". The "centimeter" is located from the edge of the big toe on the foot in a straight line to the level of 2/3 of the length of the foot.

The next measurement for the width of the foot is needed for the pattern of the top. This is the width along the inner edge along the ascent line.

This measurement is measured to determine the distance from one side edge of the foot piece to the other. A tape measure is placed across the instep of the foot.

The pattern of the pattern is given a little shape, but in accordance with your dimensions.

All personal measurements are ready for future shoes. And on them patterns are made patterns according to sketches of drawings.

patterns of all parts are made from materials

First, the figures of patterns are redrawn "by eye" from a photo to paper. Then they are adjusted taking into account the required dimensions. A paper pattern is cut with small allowances. Applies to the leg and is finally adjusted with scissors.

For example, work is done for a male model. For women, a different material is simply taken, sizes and decorations are added (optional).

For this you will need:
Top part:

  • Artificial fur. An old fur coat or vest may come in handy here. For the top layer of the upper part of the slippers (left in the picture).
  • Batting or a piece of cloth for washing the floor (not used), for insulation (center in the photo).
  • Nice thin fabric for lining (right in the picture).

Lower part, sole.

  • Something durable for the outsole. It can be a piece of felt, thick and rough leather, rubber. A slightly larger sole from old shoes is used so that a part of the desired shape can be cut out of it (on the left in the figure).
  • Also, batting is used here for warming, a pad is cut out of it a little smaller than the sole (in the center in the photo).
  • For the insoles, a dense but soft fabric is taken. Ready-made insoles available from any hardware store can be used. It is bought a little larger and already cut out of them according to the pattern of the pattern (on the right in the picture). As large as a padded pad.

An additional detail is an elastic band 3 cm wide or a synthetic strip of the same size.

To make for women or children, you need to take the appropriate size, choose the right material and decorate with decorative elements.

Step-by-step instructions on how to sew slippers from fur with your own hands

Details of slippers from fur are sewn on a sewing machine or by hand sewing. On a typewriter it will be faster, and exclusive hands. The choice is yours.

To assemble the parts you will need:

Chipping needles to split all the top pieces together.

All three details are attached together from the seamy side.

The sewn parts are trimmed 2-3 mm along the stitching. The protruding fur and other threads are trimmed along the edges of all layers. It turns out a single detail of the top of the slippers.

The elastic tape is applied face-to-face to the front side of the part along the inner edge of the top and attached.

The sewn-on tape is wrapped on the wrong side and again attached with a “multiple zigzag”. Special knit stitch on a sewing machine.

On the seamy side, the ribbon is cut very close to the stitching, at a distance of 2 mm.

It is combined with the wrong side of the upper part with the front side of the insole from the bottom part. The middle of the parts must match.

The side marks are also aligned and secured with needles.

For convenience and even stitching of parts, they are first swept out.

The insoles are sewn to the upper part. Work from the inside out.

Next, a ribbon is placed on the front of the slipper with the face of the ribbon and the edge of the strip is bent.

The tape is fastened on the front side of the slipper along the entire circumference using a machine stitch

This is what happens in the end.

The tape is again turned off on the inside of the slipper and secured with a "multiple zigzag" stitch. The entire top of the slipper is made.

The "heel-heel" is glued to the sole with a glue gun.

If the part is not glued very well, then it is warmed up by the iron, the glue will melt and firmly connect the parts.

In the same way, the sole and insulation are glued together from the seamy side. For the strength of the connection, it is ironed with an iron.

As I wrote above, the insulation pad should be slightly smaller than the sole.

The nose of the sole is coated with glue and is attached to the nose of the top of the slipper.

In the same way, the backs of the sole and the upper part of the slipper are glued together.

The final action will be to glue the entire sole with the upper part of the slipper around the entire perimeter. It is recommended to iron the gluing points with a hot iron for greater reliability. If the slippers are made of fur, then in these places he will start. But that's okay. Keep the fur side over the steam for a few minutes and straighten everything.

So the house slippers have been sewn. As you can see it is very simple and fast.

Warm, soft and beautiful slippers are made from fur. They are made easily and within the power of beginners. It is enough to understand the main points in sewing slippers and you can move on to more complex materials such as leather.

Creative flights of thought sometimes give out pleasant products. It is enough to take a closer look at the old things at home and be sure to find something for making home shoes. Let's say it can be comfortable slippers.

How to sew leather slippers with your own hands, step by step with a photo

The most spectacular indoor slippers are leather. They last longer and remain in excellent condition.

Sewing is as simple as other types of home shoes. The only thing is that a little different tools and materials will be needed here. But, all these tools and materials can be safely found in every home.

What you need to make:

  • Artificial and real leather. Priority for thick patches. Entrance will go to old women's bags, used shoes, furniture, old jackets, hats and raincoats
  • Not a thick piece of felt
  • Small flap of foam rubber
  • Disposable slippers
  • Non-woven adhesive based
  • Shoe glue or "Moment" or even super glue will do
  • Special needle. Thick, folded edge. If not, then a crochet hook will do.
  • Old house slippers for patterns
  • Punch for holes in the skin. If it's not there, it doesn't matter. A thick nail and pliers will do. A hot nail on a gas stove, clamped in a pair of pliers, easily burns the required number of holes.

The work begins with the sole of the disposable slippers. All the slots are glued with glue and wait for them to dry.

But, while the glue dries, the old slippers are unpicked without losing time, in order to make a pattern out of them.

Cut out from the soles of disposable slippers according to a pattern made from old slippers new soles.

Requires 4 leather outsole parts for outsole with 1 cm allowances along the contour. For the top of the slippers, 4 parts of the top are cut out, also according to the pattern from old slippers with 1 cm allowances, on the sides at the junctions with the sole.

The 2nd part of the top is cut out from the non-woven fabric by 1 cm less along the entire contour. Non-woven parts are glued through gauze with a hot iron to the front side of the top parts.

In the continuation of the manufacture of slippers from leather, two pieces of the top are glued together. They are smeared along the edges at a distance of 1 cm with glue and connected. This is done by weight, on the hands to shape.

After the glue dries, the parts are trimmed around the circumference with scissors.

The next action with a punch (or a nail heated on a fire) g punches holes from the edge, retreating 0.5 cm and keeping the distance between the holes 1 cm.This is done along the line coinciding with the rise of the leg and toes.

A 7 mm leather strip is also cut out, inserted into the needle and stitched over the edge passing each hole.

The ends of the leather tape are glued on the wrong side of the part with glue.

Now 2 pieces of felt or felt insoles are cut. For this, a sole pattern is used. Additionally, two half insoles are cut out.

Two “heel” parts are cut from the foam rubber. All these parts are glued together like a "sandwich".

First, there is an outsole, an insole richly greased with glue is glued to it, then a "heel" is glued under the heel and the last half-insole is glued. It turns out the main blank of the bottom of the leather slippers.

Leather soles are glued to this resulting blank on both sides. It is liberally lubricated with glue along the contour of the leather parts.

The felt used for the manufacture of such shoes is made of dried camel wool, sheep's or dog's. There are many benefits from such slippers, since they are natural.

Well, what is its main benefit, besides convenience, strength and not tricky manufacturing techniques?

Wearing felt slippers facilitates foot massage. Blood flow increases. This leads to an acceleration of the body's metabolism. It is recommended for old people, children and sick people at home to wear only such shoes.

Slippers are easy and quick to sew

The lining is sewn on the sewing machine to the main part, folding them with the right side. The allowance is cut very close to the seam, leaving 1-2 mm. Turn it on the wrong side and lay the line "straight seam" again along the edge, at a distance of 1-2 mm.

Rectangular strips for straps and lintels are each folded face-in and stitched, leaving one edge not sewn. Turn the open hem inside out and hem. Then stretch along the edges at a distance of 1-2 mm on both sides. One edge of the bridge is sewn with a “cruciform stitch” in the center to the edge of the nose region of the anterior part. As life experience shows, manual work is not only a profitable occupation that gives a second life to outdated and worn-out things, but also quite an exciting occupation. There are no special difficulties in this work. Tools and materials can be found in any home.

By learning the basics, you can make a lot of indoor shoes. Enough for both households and guests. You can also provide for all friends and generally start your own small business. Handmade footwear. Create, wear and give.

Slippers are first of all an attribute of the house. They are not meant to go outside. This type of footwear appeared a long time ago. There are several types of slippers. The most common are homemade ones. They are usually soft. Moreover, they can be either with a closed nose or heel, or with an open one. May have firm and soft soles.

Types of slippers with your own hands

In women's models, a small heel is allowed. They are made from a variety of materials. They can be entirely made of fabric, leather, rubber, plastic, foam, or they can be combined.

Men's slippers are distinguished by laconic colors: all shades of gray, brown, blue, which can be combined with each other, and with white, green. They are distinguished by the absence of adornments, which are so full of women. Like women, they can also be in the form of animals.

Usually, the cut of such slippers assumes a completely closed foot to the lower leg and the presence of an elastic band. In such slippers, you will not freeze even in the harsh winter. Men prefer open heels and socks. This is due to the fact that the moisture release in the area of the foot is higher in men than in women.

Homemade slippers rarely have a hard sole, unless the craftswoman has details from old worn slippers. These slippers are especially valuable because the soul of the master is put into them. They can be made of leather, suede, flannel, drape, woolen, chintz, with or without embroidery.

To make such slippers, you will need the following tools: needles, awl, upper fabric, sole fabric, canvas, Moment glue.

When making slippers yourself, you can focus either on a photo of knitted slippers from the Internet, or come up with your own, unique ones.

Knitted slippers

In this article, we will conduct a small master class "Knit home slippers with knitting needles."

First, cast on the knitting needles a number of loops equal to the volume of the foot and a multiple of three plus two edging. Knit 7 cm with elastic (1 front loop, 2 purl loop). After that, divide all the loops into three equal parts, knit the first third with garter stitch (in the front and back rows, all front loops), then 1 loop is knitted with the front one on the front side, and along the purl, respectively, the purl.

Now we collect all the loops from the side of the elastic to a thread and tighten. Sew the edge to the required length with the same thread so that the leg fits. Fold the other end in half and sew it too. So we get the heel, and where the elastic will be the toe.

Slippers without seams

A more complex model is home slippers without seams, knitted on five needles. These slippers fit like socks. We collect the required number of loops, equal to the volume of the ankle and distribute them to four knitting needles. The number of loops must be a multiple of four.

Next, we knit an elastic band (knit 2, purl 2) in a circle. After 2 cm, we begin to knit with garter stitch (on the front and seamy side, all front loops), and we continue to knit one third with an elastic band. From this part will then be the heel.

After 2 cm, we knit only a third with an elastic band to the end of the heel of the leg. At the beginning of each row, we knit the last two loops together so that the elastic pattern is not disturbed. We do this until only 9 loops remain on the needles.

Now we collect the missing loops from the sides and continue to knit in a circle. Having knitted to the end of the little finger, we begin to decrease the loops. You can subtract in two ways. The first is to divide all the loops into four parts and remove one loop at a time at regular intervals. It turns out that there are 4 loops in each knitted row.

The second method allows you to get a more beautiful and even sock, similar in appearance to the tip of mittens. To do this, you need to divide all the loops into exactly two knitting needles, dividing the top and bottom of the track. Then we knit two loops together at the beginning and end of each knitting needle.

Whichever method you choose, you need to knit this way until one loop remains, which we close. Your tracks are ready! Everyone will be delighted with such a gift!

Good afternoon friends!

It turns out that slippers with your own hands can quickly and easily be created from improvised materials, while even a pattern of the required size does not need to be looked for at all. This is what the next competitive work and Evgenia's master class are about.

Hello, friends. My name is Evgenia. As far back as I can remember, I have always been fond of something, did something or get up to it. I have favorite activities and hobbies, for example, fishing. But I also enjoy trying new types of creativity and handicrafts, or experimenting with familiar ones. My blog "" is also devoted to different types of creativity.

I have been thinking about making new indoor slippers for a long time, but somehow my hands did not reach. Therefore, the competition became an incentive for me.

It's easy to make such slippers with your own hands, I will try to tell you in detail and show them in the photo.

A simple pattern of slippers with your own hands

We do not need patterns of house slippers with different sizes. We ourselves will build the templates, according to which the details will be cut out according to the size of your leg.

My templates are ready, I have been using them for several years. Therefore, I will describe this process briefly.

Make them better on cardboard, outlining the leg - you will get a sole pattern. You will also need a cover for the top of the slippers. Trace the pattern of the sole from the side of the toes to about the middle. Measure the instep of your leg and distribute this distance from the center of the lid evenly to both sides. Draw the corners of the lid up to the extended mark.

Materials for making home slippers

DIY slippers can be made from a wide variety of materials: thick fabric, old jeans, felt, felt, fur, leather, even.

These materials will go to the tops of the slippers and insoles.

For slippers you will also need:

  • linoleum or thick leather for the sole
  • foam rubber 10 mm thick.
  • corrugated board from the box
  • scissors
  • pen and marker
  • hook and thread.

Cut out the details of the slippers

On a piece of linoleum, I draw the sole according to the pattern. Here you need to correctly position the pattern so that the sole does not turn out to be on one leg.

I also draw the sole on the foam rubber, here the location does not matter. It is better to draw on foam rubber with a marker.

I draw the same sole on cardboard. It is better to place the pattern on cardboard along or obliquely to the corrugation, but not across. So the cardboard will not be wrinkled during work and when wearing slippers.

Now you need to make an insole that will cover the foam. Any dense materials such as drape, soft felt, suiting fabrics, jeans or leather are suitable for her. I have tight knitwear. From the seamy side of the material, I circle the pattern, but so that there is a distance of two centimeters between the patterns.

I'm starting to open the lid. Here you need to choose the materials so that the lid holds its shape well. I will use the same jersey as for the insoles and will make a pattern for the inner part that will be in contact with the foot.

I will make the upper part of the lid from dermantin-based.

I do not place the pattern for the top close to the edge of the material, but leaving about 1 centimeter at the edges, I circle it.

Having finished drawing, I proceed to cutting. I cut out blanks on linoleum, cardboard, foam rubber and the inside of the lid along the drawn contour.

And I cut out the insole for the sole and the upper part of the lid with an allowance, that is, departing from the contour about a centimeter.

How to make slippers with your own hands - master class

Gluing of blanks

To prevent the workpieces from moving apart when piercing, I glue them together. For this purpose, I use any available glue, for example "Titanium" or "Moment".

I glue the foam rubber to the seamy side of the insole, and the lower blank of the lid to the seamy side of the top.

It is not necessary to grease heavily with glue, only lightly along the edge and in the middle.

After the parts of the lid are glued together, I cut off the corners of it. I do this for convenience when tying.

Piercing holes

With an awl, it is necessary to pierce holes in all the details, stepping back from the edge about 1 centimeter, a little less is possible. The distance between the holes is approximately 0.7-0.8mm.

Sole strapping

I will tie the details with a nylon thread, this is used for knitting fishing nets. But you can take any other synthetic thread.

First, I tie the edge of the linoleum sole. I make a loop on the thread, insert the hook from the front of the workpiece and pull out the loop.

Having tied the entire sole, I cut the thread and fasten it.

In the same way, I tie the foam rubber with the insole, tuck the edge of the insole inward. This will give a neat look to the finished product, as the foam will not stick out through the threads.

It is more convenient to start the strapping from the center of the heel or toe, below I will explain why.

Having finished tying the foam rubber, I do not cut the thread, but leave a loop.

I attach the insole to the sole so that they match. I insert the hook through the loop of the insole and under the loop on the sole and connect both parts with connecting loops.

Having connected the side parts of the parts in this way on one side, on the other, there remains a pocket between the parts, into which I insert a corrugated cardboard blank.

It is more convenient to insert it into such a side pocket, and the cardboard does not break at the same time. And it is needed to give the sole rigidity, and so that the heel does not crumple when walking.

Having inserted the cardboard, I continue to connect the parts to the end, cut the thread and fasten it.

The sole is completely ready, I proceed to tying the edge of the lid.

Tying the cap (top) of the sneakers

I tie the lid, like the previous parts, holding the front side to me and tucking the edge inward. I start knitting from the right corner, this will allow, without breaking the threads, to connect the lid to the sole.

Connecting the sole to the cover

So, the lid is completely tied, I apply it to the sole so that the corners are at the same level. I connect the lid to the sole using connecting loops.

In the same way, I tie and connect the details of the second slipper.

These are the slippers with your own hands - simple and fast!

Slipper decor

I wanted to additionally decorate the slippers, after all, they will go to the competition.

Finding the right decoration for a colorful surface is not easy. After going through many options, I stopped at the bows left over from the old bag.

Neatly trimmed the protruding edges.

I chose a place where I will attach them, and made holes with an awl. I inserted the legs of the bows into them, bent them on the seamy side and pressed them tightly.

I bring to your judgment the resulting soft home slippers - slippers that I made with my own hands.

Zhenya, thank you for your participation in the competition and very beautiful slippers, we just didn’t have enough knitted ones, as well as a special gratitude for the tremendous work in creating a master class! And these slippers are perfect for guests, when someone comes home, there is always a problem of what to give them shoes, and they will become excellent for the new year and any other holiday.
