A vase of newspaper tubes and a topiary made of natural material "colors of autumn". Topiary and weaving from newspaper tubes are my favorite hobby

Look at this wonderful tree. At first glance, it seems to be woven from rattan or other expensive natural material... In fact, this souvenir is made from newspaper tubes- the cheapest and most accessible of the materials at hand.

In order to make a tree from newspaper tubes, you will need:

  • 7 large newspaper sheets;
  • PVA glue;
  • brush;
  • gouache white.

Progress

The tree is made using the weaving technique from newspaper tubes, which should be prepared in advance.

1. Seven large newspaper sheets are enough to make about 30 straws. To make wood from newspaper sheets, you need approximately 28 straws.

2. Take 15 tubes and form a bundle of them, securing it with thread and wrapping it with a sheet newsprint.

3. Take another newspaper tube and, constantly wetting it with glue, wrap it in a spiral, forming a trunk of the desired height.

4. Divide the remaining free ends into 2 unequal bundles and wind each of them in a spiral with tubes. In this way, you will begin to form the branches of the tree from the newspaper tubes.

5. Wrap the resulting 2 bundles of tubes in a spiral again, dividing into 2 more parts. Continue dividing until only one tube remains on the branches.

6. Use scissors to trim the crown of the tree woven from newspaper tubes to the desired length, form curls.

7. Wrap additional newspaper tubes around the tree trunk to make it more massive.

8. Cover the wood from newspaper tubes with a mixture of gouache and PVA.

9. When the mixture of paint and glue is dry, varnish the tree.

Ready! If you have already mastered these simple techniques, you can tackle slightly more complex projects - for example, for jewelry.

Trees made of newspaper tubes look interesting. They can be made as souvenirs or used as a pendant for jewelry... In our version, we will make souvenir money and autumn trees.

Step-by-step photo master class on how to make trees from newspaper tubes with your own hands

For the master class, you will need the following material:

  • newspaper;
  • spoke;
  • PVA glue;
  • gouache;
  • coins;
  • leaves (sewing accessories);
  • monofilament.

First, tear a sheet of newspaper into four parts. Twist each strip into a tube using a knitting needle (tilt 30 degrees). Paint the tubes with gouache in Brown color... Take a handful of tubes, glue them with newspaper (its size corresponds to the beginning of the branches). The more sticks, the thicker the trunk, the more branches and the more stable the tree.

From the bottom, wrap the barrel with a tube, periodically lubricating with glue. When the tip remains 4-5 centimeters long, insert new wand into the hole, wrap the barrel again. Next, divide the tubes in half, glue each part with a tube. Divide branches randomly. Even if there is only one tube left, wrap it, increasing the thickness of the branch. When ten to fifteen centimeters remain, stop the winding (move to another branch or glue the tip), crush the tube to make it flat, twist it into a ring.

Return to the bottom, start growing roots: wind the tubes in a circle, forming a stable base. Paint the finished tree with brown gouache. Then cover with varnish. Sew coins or leaves onto the branch. If after the decoration the tree has lost its stability, attach a rubber or metal ring to its base.

An equally fascinating kind of creativity for me is weaving from newspaper tubes.

History of origin

Wickerwork is the manufacture of wickerwork from a wicker. The history of basket weaving has its roots in antiquity. People weaved from reeds, reeds, bamboo and willow vines. In Russia, basket weaving, baskets, baby cradles, and bast shoes was especially widespread. Our ancestors used this art form not for pleasure, but out of urgent need.

The experience of our ancestors came in handy when weaving from newspaper tubes. With the help of such weaving, you can create a large number of beautiful and functional items for the home with your own hands. Wickerwork has a special aura. Autumn is so gorgeous in colors, the last green leaves are hidden in yellow and red ... Who would not want to keep this beauty even for a while. This beauty will be preserved by a topiary made of natural material. beauty autumn leaves, saved in our craft, will delight in winter.

Materials and tools

How to make a topiary "Colors of Autumn" from natural material with your own hands? Step by step instructions for adults and children.

You need to start by preparing the leaves. We chose the iron method, ironed some of the smaller leaves through the paper on both sides and covered with hairspray. The rest of the leaves were folded into a magazine under a press so as not to curl.

Now let's get down to the vase. We need prepared paper tubes, stained with wood stain, about 30. On a cardboard circle with a diameter of 10 cm, glue 6 tubes evenly, then add another one to get started. Titanium glue or hot glue.

The spiral weaving is very simple, we bend the first tube counterclockwise, put it on the next level of the cardboard circle, then the tube, onto which we bent it, we also put it on the next one. So we go in a circle, laying the tubes on top of each other.

When the tubes run out, we fix the end of the work with a clothespin so that it does not bloom, we build it up in the usual way, inserting the thin end into the wide one, dropping glue.

The height of the vase is optional, about 17cm. When we weave more than 10 cm in height, we begin to narrow towards the neck, for this we put the tubes 0.5 cm deep into the vase.

We weave 2 rows for expansion, also by 0.5 cm, pushing each tube outward.

We have enough height, we can finish. In the last row, slip it under the next tube, glue it and cut it off.

Here's a vase turned out.

To make the vase strong, we prime it with PVA glue and water in half, let it dry and cover it with a non-glossy acrylic varnish, I don't want shine.

Now let's proceed to the design of the topiary. We make a ball from a newspaper or magazine by winding and gluing. We finish with white paper.

We glue the ball with beautiful leaves.

Let's start with the chestnuts. We wrap them in maple leaves, for this we glue in the middle and bend out parts of the leaves, glue them alternately outside. It turns out, as it were, a nut.

Zatkm glue our "nuts" on the leaves treated with iron and varnish.

We glue in a circle as we like.

Topiary is a small decorative tree with a rounded crown. This method of decorating garden vegetation came into our culture from Ancient Egypt, it was there that they first began to give trees unusual shape... Over the centuries, the craft has grown into decorative art, the fruits of which are increasingly found in modern interiors. At the same time, you can literally make a tree of happiness with your own hands in one free evening.

Topiary with corrugated paper flowers

Topiary with cute corrugated paper buds is often used to decorate wedding or birthday parties. Many brides even prefer to use artificial analogues of flowers for a bouquet, because such details will definitely not deteriorate at the most crucial moment, moreover, they are not at all inferior to natural peonies or roses.

So, for making crafts with roses, stock up on the following materials: corrugated paper of the selected shade - for the inflorescence; scissors; glue; pencil; green tape for the trunk; strong thread (can be replaced with a small wire); ruler; Styrofoam; barrel stick (e.g. Japanese chopstick, pencil, twig); newsprint or other thick paper; pot for indoor plants.

To get topiary standard size, prepare 30-40 flowers. Cut strips 3-4 cm wide and 35-45 cm long for each rose. Bend the ribbon lengthwise by a third, and then wrap the top section at an acute angle and repeat the turns three times - this will form the middle of the rose. Continue turning until you have twisted the entire strip. Fix the tip with glue, and fasten the lower part of the flower with wire.

The base sphere can be purchased ready-made or formed from newsprint. Wrap the newspaper ball tightly with thick thread. Please note that the paper blank must be larger than the size you want to get, as the thread will significantly reduce it. Glue the flowers securely to the sphere.

Take the stick of your choice and wrap it in twine or green glue tape. Can be used corrugated paper by cutting long strips out of it, applying glue to the inside and winding it around the base. Place the ball on the barrel or fix it with glue.

Use styrofoam or alabaster as a primer. In the latter case, fill it, leaving 2–4 cm from the edge, and insert the trunk. In this case, the stick must be held until the solution becomes dry. Decorate the finished primer with fabric, tinsel, or beads - whichever you prefer. Ready!

Topiary made from coffee beans

Topiary made from coffee is a wonderful gift that will decorate any corner of the house. It is environmentally friendly, beautiful and, moreover, also has an incomparable tasty aroma. It's easy to make - follow the basic instructions. In addition, you will need coffee beans in the amount of 150-300 g, brown acrylic paint for covering and, if desired, decor. All other materials and tools are standard, as for any other topiary.

You can make the classic version without intricate shapes and decorations, the result will be elegant and laconic. But if your heart longs for creativity, we offer several original ideas:

- The craft can take the form of a flowering tree and become an excellent present for a girl, mother or teacher;

- Try decorating the tree with dried fruits and placing it in the dining area;

- Use summer motives and decorate the work with small birds and butterflies;

- Create new year composition- a cute coffee tree. The base can be made independently from thick paper or purchased ready-made;

- A man will surely appreciate a gift in the form money tree... It is enough to glue coins to the ball, and around them - a zipper, decorate the remaining space with coffee beans;

- If you are thinking of a present for Valentine's Day or wedding anniversary, complete a heart-shaped topiary;

- A cup hanging over a saucer looks very impressive, from which grains are "spilled". It is not difficult to do it - instead of a stick, use wire, foam or hot glue.

Cones topiary

Another idea of a popular eco-decor today is a cone topiary. It will harmoniously complement an autumn or winter composition, and it is quite simple to perform it.

In addition to the standard set of materials, prepare cones, pins, dried moss. Rinse the cones thoroughly and dry for 10 minutes in an oven preheated to 350 degrees. Prepare the trunk by painting or rewinding with twine. Fill the pot with assembly mixture or cut floristic foam, fix the trunk in it.

The sphere can be coated with brown paint. Use pins or hot glue to attach the bumps to the ball. They must be secured close to each other. Large parts need to be glued first, the rest - in decreasing size. Secure the ball to the barrel.

Cover the improvised soil with moss or other material that you like. Complete the composition with additional embellishments if desired.

By the period new year holidays you can also form an impromptu conical tree.

Floral topiary using quilling technique

The topiary made using this technique turns out to be very cheerful and pretty. It will complement the interior of the nursery or serve as an interesting decor in the dining room or kitchen. Try it yourself, it's not difficult at all.

So, you will need: thick, bright colored paper in various shades; a quilling device (if it is not at hand, use a toothpick or a needle stuck in a wine cork); spherical base; scissors; a flower pot; barrel stick; glue (PVA and thermal gun); moss or other filler for covering "soil"; chopped foam; decorative tapes (optional).

Slice colored paper into wide (one color) and narrow (another shade) stripes. Cut wide parts along the edges, forming a fringe. Glue narrow elements to the edge of each such strip. Lubricate a thin strip with glue and use the selected tool to twist it into a tight spiral. Do the same for the wide strip. Remove the craft from the tool.

Repeat the algorithm for the rest of the stripes in different colors. Unfold the fringe for lovely flowers.

Take the ball and fix the flowers on it with a heat gun so that there are no voids left. Lubricate the pot with hot glue and place the styrofoam in it. Cut a hole in the Styrofoam for the barrel, grease it with glue and place the barrel in it.

Make a hole in the crown and place it on the stick-barrel, previously greased with glue. Decorate the foam soil with prepared moss or other decorative element... If you wish, you can paint the pot in bright color, and also tie the trunk with a beautiful ribbon.

Seashell topiary

The shell topiary will perfectly complement the interior in a nautical style. To make it, prepare the following materials: a ball for a foam base; various shells; wire; pot for stand; cardboard; twine or thread; scissors and hot glue gun.

To make the crown of the topiary, prepare: a foam ball, shells and white sisal. Using a glue gun, glue the entire surface of the sphere and wrap sisal around it. Prepare the shells, and then attach them with glue to the sisal, leaving small gaps. This way you must cover the entire surface of the ball.

For the trunk you will need wire, thread or twine, scissors and a glue gun. Shape the wire as desired and wrap it tightly with thread or twine. You can make multiple trunks using different colored threads and different bends.

To make a topiary pot, prepare a clay pot, styrofoam, cardboard or paper, ready-made trunks, scissors, and a heat gun. Place Styrofoam in the pot to secure the trunks. Then fix it with hot melt glue. Glue the finished crown to the trunk and stick it into the foam placed in the pot. Glue thoroughly with a heat gun. For strength, fill empty space in a pot with crumpled paper, glue and cover with a circle of cardboard. Later, you can close it with sisal or small seashells.

Fasten the two shells together and place the pearl in them. Thus, you will get a wonderful pot decoration. Next, decorate the base of the pot as you like. Using satin ribbon, You can do bright accents and sprinkle the crown with the same "pearls".
